Financial management 1 includes 11 topics which impart an overview of the important financial concepts, terms, and the functions of the finance role in a business organization. It is therefore heavily weighted toward presenting content and, to a lesser extent, initiating the participant to thinking from a finance perspective. That perspective involves thinking in the form of developing a repeatable analytical process (a “best practice”) that will help the participant find the right answer to business finance problems most of the time. It also provides the basic knowledge about analyzing the financial situation of a company so that the participants find it easier to study the next major subjects.
